About Me
Janine L'Nette Coaxum
I began my journey with music when I was in elementary school. I first learned to play the Viola. In 7th grade, I moved over to the Contrabass or the Upright Bass. In High school I took up choir and in college, although I majored in Psychology, I spent all my time in the music department. I joined the University Choir, the Concert Choir and the University Jazz Band. We were blessed enough to even tour Europe (France, Brussels and Leige).
After graduation(B.S. Psychology '01, M.A. Sociology '06) , I served in the Military (US Army/77F 2yrs and USAFR 2T27 6yrs). After my time on Active Duty, I joined the Air Force Reserves, got a job in Social Work and went back to school. I dibbled and dabbled in music, while working in all these other fields but it was all just voice recordings to composed music. In 2009, I moved from NC to the DMV for a new job opportunity in government service. Later that year I joined my first "band" , The 7 East Band and the rest is documentation for posterity (Chekmate Entertainment Band, Persevir Band, 4Lyfe Band, ADP, TCE).
Today, I am currently closing out an Associates degree in Audio Engineering from Full Sail University and am always looking to build my skills working on projects. Whether it's, composition, recording, live sound, or singing background or full vocals for recorded or live performances, I'm in the music. My second career should have been my first.....my first love, music!
